Synopsis: Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a skilled thief. He is the best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state, when the mind is at its most vulnerable. This ability has made Cobb a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved.
Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish one last inception which is close to impossible. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse: their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime. Despite careful planning they have to face a dangerous enemy who is able to predict their move.
Review: Inception was shrouded in mystery during its production. No-one really knew what it was all about till some thrilling trailers full of stunning visuals. Christopher Nolan comes to Inception riding high on the success of his last movie The Dark Knight. Added to this the presence of Leonardo DiCaprio in the movie and the expectation levels soared high. Filled with action, romance and drama Inception has been one of the most awaited movies of the year.
Nolan has had a great track record hardly having made a dud with and Memento and The Dark Knight being his all time best. Inception doesn’t fault his track record either and is once again a original, gripping piece of film making and storytelling. Breathtaking at moments, Inception is a film that will entertain you as well as make you think. It certainly takes the human imagination to new levels.
The movie has been rightly titled as Inception a heist movie. It has a bit of love story, a lot of science fiction and definitely a lot of action. The dream worlds are so well imagined by the director that you standup and bow to human imagination. Everything seems so unreal at the same time woos the audience. Christopher Nolan certainly proves the reasons for being in the elite group of helmers.
Apart from Leonardo DiCaprio, Inception does not have a huge star cast. DiCaprio delivers one of his best performances in the movie, so does Marion and Tom Hardy. The film has been shot in six different countries including Japan, England, France, Morocco, the U.S. and Canada to create the different dream worlds. It surely has created a magical dream world which are scarier than the scariest of dreams.
You need to brace yourself to go to the unimaginable when you watch this movie. It is not everyday that you come across an Inception. The tantalizing end leaves plenty of room for discussion and debate. The 148 minutes of runtime seems to fly as the movie holds you on. It is definitely a must watch for everyone. See this movie once and you will never want to have a dream in your life ever!

Leonardo, who is still popularly known for Jack Dawson played by him in Titanic, should be relieved as his role as Dom Cobb will be remembered forever. His performance may or may not fetch him an Oscar but it will be his finest performance till date. The supporting cast too did an extraordinary work. Christopher Nolan, ah! what a man he is. His work is nothing less than a masterpiece and he deserves all the awards in the ‘Best Director’ category. If “Inception” is a metaphysical puzzle, it’s also a metaphorical one: It’s hard not to draw connections between Cobb’s dream-weaving and Nolan’s film making, intended to seduce us, mess with our heads and leave an ever-lasting impression.
